Foust Architecture is a San Franciscobased architectural firm with over 25 years of experience delivering thoughtful design across residential, commercial, and sacred space projects. We believe architecture is more than the arrangement of space. It is the shaping of experience how light falls, how form speaks, how a place can sustain and elevate the people within it. This conviction informs our work across every scale and project type, with the goal of designing beautiful and meaningful spaces for our clients.

?

We believe that good partnership produces good projects. We strive to develop relationships as well as designs. To this end we have partnered with several clients and contractors on multiple projects over the years. Helping our clients work through issues around scope, project management, and the production of standard details to produce not only economical designs but a cohesive aesthetic.

Led by principal Brian Foust, the firm brings a rare combination of technical precision and deep aesthetic sensibility to every space. Brian is a member of the AIA, Association of Liturgical Consultants and LEED. He holds degrees in Architecture, Biblical Studies and is currently pursuing a masters in Christianity and the Visual Arts at Aberdeen University in Scotland.

PHILOSOPHY

Brian seeks first to listen and observe. Every tradition and church is different. Taking the time to listen and observe to learn about a specific churches expression of the Gospel is important before embarking on any design solutions. Only after careful consideration should design solutions be presented so that they can more fully embody the churches mission, value and expression.
