Julie Richey graduated from the University of Dallas (BA ’87) and was a Rotary Foundation Graduate Scholar to Perugia, Italy. She began making mosaics in 1991 and now creates custom residential and commercial installations in the US, Italy and Mexico. Her sculptures have been exhibited across the US and Italy, at the Ravenna Mosaico Biennial and the Orsoni Smalti foundry in Venice, where she earned the 2009 International Grand Prize for mosaic. Julie designs and fabricates large works for public and sacred spaces. She enjoys the challenge of creating unique, site-specific mosaics for memorable place-making. She and her team have created custom mosaics for baptismal fonts, columbaria, altarpieces, stations of the cross and bishops’ crests. In 2017, her team won Preservation Dallas’ award for the restoration of the St. Jude Chapel mosaic façade in Dallas, TX
