Executed in egg tempera and gold leaf on paper, the work measures 100 × 300 cm.
“Angel of the Lord” was created in 2024 as part of my academic training in monumental and sacred art. The work is a variation on an Art Nouveau mural fragment from the New Athos Monastery of St. Simon the Canaanite.
The project grew from my study of the monastery’s historic oil-painted murals and their distinctive color palette. Rather than creating a direct copy, I developed my own interpretation of the original figure from the choir gallery, adapting its composition for a commissioned interior project.
