I just loved working with the model so much that I had to finish it. The most challenging thing about portraiture isn't the eyes or the nose or anything one can measure. It's reaching in and catching the essence of the person, then coaxing it Ito the clay. I have no technique for it aside from just being present with another person. In that, though, there is magic.
