Sunset Manor is a retirement community in Jenison, MI with a Presbyterian/Reformed background and ecumenical outreach. This commission was for a Communion Table, Lectern, Font, and large cross. While the chapel itself underwent several revisions, the designs for the furnishings were enthusiastically embraced.

Inspired by Arts and Crafts designs the furnishings in white oak emphasize noble simplicity and dignity without becoming simplistic. A font was included in the commission since many of the residents have family who wish to baptize their children in a place accessible by their senior loved ones. The eight sides symbolize renewal and rebirth in Christ while the four legs recall the four canonical Gospels which are the Church's foundation.

In keeping with the Presbyterian tradition, the cross is simple, yet designed to reflect the unique salvific dignity contained in its symbolism.
